Cob Cottage

In 1986 I was asked by a friend one night over a beer in a local pub if I could restore his 15th century cob cottage in Winterbourne Whitechurch, Dorset and thus began my love affair with cob and lime plastering. At the time this was a lost art so meant I had to do a lot of research to find out how and why (and where to source) the old materials were used. Since then I have restored over 50 ancient/historic properties throughtout the south of England and France and now have had the pleasure of restoring several historic buildings in this country including a couple of 'living museums'.
